Post by 1st_polo »

I turn 17 in feb and i will be looking to insure the good old polo.

its the 1.4 8v and the cheapest i have been qouted is 1600 and that was through kwick fit. And that was without mods i dont want to add some im scared lol.

Has anyone got a scobby wat would be the best company to try and get a decent qoute.

Cheers

Lol I past at 23 and still I got quoted £1300 on a punto 1.2! So the quotes you're getting isn't bad at all. If you wish to modify your motor soon then ask insurers how much premium is likely to increase and whether parts get replaced like-for-like. It's best knowing beforehand

Best to talk to all the insurers and talk nonsense about another insurer asking for less, which gets them to decrease their quote. Try Endsleigh who usually give good quotes if you're a student and a young driver.

Hey im 17 and have a '98 Mk4 6n 1.4cl Directline £1200. I hear they dont generally raise their prices when you pass? and i hope to get a few mods and am hoping i can blag that they are mostly for quality and looks rather than adding or altering performance - E.g. coilies, spacers, flares, induction kit and if i can afford it i like what ive heard about the GT Camshaft; to be honest i know i am pushing it, a lot lol  8) cant blame a man for trying (here come the not quite a man yet jokes lol) hopefully they wont add to much and i wont be getting them all done at once so i should be able to save some money for extra insurance and i should have a years no claims by next august so i could wait till the end of summer to do most of the main blatent performance mods. Any one got any advice for all us young drivers with hearts for mods :D

all you can really do is just shop around! ive heard a lot of good things about quinn direct recently, seem to be doing well atm. i'm with endsleigh, no mods on a 1.0. original quote last jan was 1250 with windscreen cover, renewal this year was 750! no idea on mods, as i aint done any, but i suspect if you call the company and beg enough they'll be nice ;) good luck with it all mate
