Crappy window demister

Post by CymruPolo »

I don't know if it's just mine but as soon as I get in the car in the morning during the winter (i.e now  ) the windows often steam up as I drive off.

I put the heaters on full and demisters on but they don't seem to shift anything in a hurry. I end up having to open the windows and freezing my arse off to get rid of it.

Anyone else getting the same? It's starting to annoy me.

I find the best demisting is done by sticking the air con on auto at 21C - very effective, once the engine has warmed up a little

mine did this a lot last year and found the more you change around with it the worse it gets to the point where ive had to pull over before.

now what seems to work for me is have it on econ at 20`c with only 2 or 3 bars of speed. but leave the car door open for a few seconds whilst you turn then engine on.

seems to now work fine, its as if the moist air is trapped in the system and when you turn it on it blows it straight onto the windscreen

I've got manual A/C and mine does this often too, when its cold. Takes a minimum of about 5 minutes to even start clearing enough for me to safely drive so I tend to just sit and listen to some tunes! :)

Yeah mines the same, nightmare to clear especially if your late for work.

I leave mine for 10 mins normally does the trick, wack the heated seats on and when you get in its perfect.
