Whats the difference?

Ok... So... Anyone know what the differences are between the "standard" 6N2 and the GTI 6n2

So far I have:

Engine/gearbox
front bumper, skirts, rear bumper and spoiler.
Rear disk brakes. (I assume the axle/beam is the same on all cars?)
slightly stiffer suspension...


Is three any other differences?

Chrome Bezel Rings
Steering Wheel
Headlights
And the obvious seats etc..

The rear bumper is the same as a standard 6N2, and the only difference with the front bumper is the headlight washers (which when you order a bumper from main stealers, you have to cut them out yourself. (so technicly the bumpers are the same?)

It's really subtle stuff. I didn't even know the side skirts were GTI specific until I noticed normal Mk5's they were a lot lot smaller (although probably less likely to damage )

its not just the GTi's that came with them Mouse, the 1.4 16v model TDi also came with them!

Yes mate, the GTi's have honey combe grills where as the 1.0's / 1.4's have the slatted grills.

suspention is 15m lower than standard ! the rear beam has a bigger torsion bar!
brakes are completly different!

Is the steering wheel different? I parked next to a standard 6N2 last week and it had the same steering wheel as mine

Steering wheel's definitely different, GTi's have the red stitching.

Gearboxes are the same throughout, just different ratios.

So it's:

Engine
Bigger washer fluid bottle
Headlamp washers
Front bumpers cut to house headlamp washers (although thet are the same bumper)
Bigger skirts, (also shared with the 1.4 and TDi)
Colour coded strips all round (also shared with certain models)
Exhaust
Red doorcards (except with red GTis?)
Badges
Leather Handbrake
Red stitched Steering wheel
Gear Gaitor
Dials (chrome surround and centre clock)
Wheels
Rear disc brakes (shared with some other models I believe?)
Splitter
Headlights
Climate Control (or Air con, which is also shared with other model I believe?)
Front wings (come with the bigger sills)
Honeycomb grills all round
Foglights (also shared with other models)
Rear spolier
Suspension
Larger radiator (I think?)
Gloss tip on the arch of dials hood?
Interior (leather or 'I' cloth)
Remote central locking (may have been an option with other models? not sure)
Optional traction control
ABS? (not surte if this was avaiable on all models either)


That's all I can think of, maybe also the ICE? Not sure what options were available for each model
