G60 280m brakes!

Post by bbspolo »

Would anyone be intrested in some brackets that elimate the need for the g60 caliper brackets (think there £200 from vw?)
Well a friend of mine who runs a machine shop helped me make up some for mine 2day (and anodise them red :-)
Now he has all the dimensions and the program saved on his cnc mechine he told me he could run off some sets of them for any1 else who wanted them?

Obverisoly the more he makes the cheeper they get as the most time is in setting up the mechine and useing the tank for anodising!
However he said a rough price for a small run (say 5 sets) would be £60-£70 a set (with everything u need bar new disks and pads 2 fit the larger 280m disks 2 a gti!)

Anyway if your intrested get your names up!

its confusing 2 explane mate so bare with me!
that pic looks 2 me 2 be a stock g60 setup. However the polo gti use the same caliper and hub just with a smaller disk and different caliper bracket (the gold bit in you pic!)

the parts ive had made replaces nothing thats there it just spaces out the gti caliper and carriar so that u can use the 280m g60 disk!

Its rearly commen in the ford world 2 do what im doing as fords (god bless em) use alot of the same parts on alot of differnt models! so with a new bracket or 2 u can bump up the size of your disks!

sadly for vw people but good for polo people is that it the same with the golf/ corrado g60 and 6n2 polos!

The calipers and carriers are not alloy.... I think you will find they are steel.... hence the rust on the older ones....

Would be good to see some pics of the finished items before and after fitting :D
