wing mirrors

i don't know if i'm been stpuid or what here but how do they fold in?

i've give them a good push n pull and it seems like they'll snap off before they move.

were currently doing the drive and i've had to park on the street, my dads van and car have both been hit. mines next lol

Well for the removing the outer casing you can use a flat head screw driver. Wrap duck tape around the flat head to avoid scratching or damaging the paint work.

Now slowly and gently squeeze the head of the screw driver along the gaps and turn the flat head accordingly to increase the gap. Once the case starts to loosen just pull it vertically up......

Just give them a really big push/pull inwards.

I take it you haven't folded them before, so the hinge is probably extremely stiff. But they are a really sturdy hinge.

I had the same problem a few weeks ago, took the g/f to york for a weekend and looked like a right knob trying to fold the drivers mirror in lol

I know what folding of a wing mirror means dude but didn't understand your question properly as you forgot to say your wing mirrors were hardly used and had become stiff....

Anyhow! if you apply some penetrating fluid and then leave it for 20mins and then as said above lift the mirror slightly upwards and push it in.......

The mechanism is probably rusted as hell so would need alot of lubrication......

is there an easy way to remove the cover?

the cover seems to unclip from the main unit but on mine it broke one of the clips that hold it in place so its not as secure now, ideally needing replacing. my mirrors are stuck solid aswell. tried wd, big plumbers pliers and brute force to no avail. im just gony replace them after new year. coilovers and wheels take precedent first
