Quick questions about chaning discs and pads...
What tools and sizes are needed?
And what's included in the process?
Do the carriers come off aswell?
Do you have to remove both caliper bolts?
Once the one screw on the disc is free, is there anything else holding it on?
Cheers
Disc and Pad removal
Re: Disc and Pad removal
Just did mine a month ago. You have to take of both bolts holding on the caliper so that you are able to get to the brake pads. The caliper can stay on as the brake disc can just slide out and slide in. You will have to force the pistons in on the front brakes using a g-clamp or something. MAKE SURE the cap to ur brake fluid tank is off! Also the rear brake piston DONOT just push in they have to be winded in so you need the correct tool (i fount this out the hard way and wasted hours!!!). Also when changing the rear brake disks make sure the handbrake is UP at all tymz or the piston will fall out of its socket (i fount out the hard way)!!
Hope it helps and gud luck!

Would a mole wrench be suitable for the front pistons?
What tool du need for the rear pistons?

Re: Disc and Pad removal
Keep the handbrake DOWN (sorry for the mistake).
A mole wrench i dont think will fit around the caliper as if ur pads are pretty worn out then the piston will be quite far out. You can give it a go but i doubt it will work. The rear calipers need a Caliper Rewind tool heres one:

any idea whether you can temporarily put a wheel back without the disc? as I haven't got enough axle stands!

Re: Disc and Pad removal
its no bother now, i'm just going to do it one by one, so have enough stands. i'm just trying to source a rewind tool for tomorrow, as I don't fancy paying 20 quid for a tool i'm hardly ever going to use!
cheers for your help mate
