Can anyone help even Tomo?
Been looking for ages for your old silver polo gti engine bay of the BMC setup, you had some nice shiney piping made for it, you got any pics of it mate?
Re: Can anyone help even Tomo?

Re: Can anyone help even Tomo?
If you havnt already got it sorted... I might be able to weld a nice shiny piece like that up for you.... Finaly un-burried my TIG welder from the garage.... not seen it for a while!
Re: Can anyone help even Tomo?
no mate, just toying with a few ideas, looking at gettin either a BMC or something similar, what you got in mind?
Re: Can anyone help even Tomo?
You could use the BMC and attach it to a nice shiny welded stainless tube as in the photos.....Bepe wrote:no mate, just toying with a few ideas, looking at gettin either a BMC or something similar, what you got in mind?

Possibly interested also Dunc! How much we talking?
Re: Can anyone help even Tomo?
Me aswell.. could make this a group buy haha!!
Re: Can anyone help even Tomo?
Not sure on prices.. it depends what people actually want... But yes, if there were a couple of you it would help decrease costs....
if you just want a pipe as per the photo above comming from the K&N and bending down to draw air low down just behind the splitter..... then that would be farily straightforward...
Pipe could be made out of stainless steel and welded...then polished so you cant see the welds...so it looks like one continuous piece of tube...

Give us a ball park figure mate
Re: Can anyone help even Tomo?
Had a chat with the steel guys... Looks like the price of steel is still pretty painful!
Im not sure exactly what size diameter the pipe would have to be..but to make the piece of pipe as per the photos above to bring cold air into the induction filter... the price would be somewhere around the £80-£150 mark...
3" is significantly cheaper than a 4" pipe... I can be more specific on prices when I actually sit down and think about it a little bit more...
Does that interest anyone?

Re: Can anyone help even Tomo?
Hhmm I was thiking £80 as an absolute limit. Completely understandable on the price though.
Re: Can anyone help even Tomo?
yeah bit steep for me, my mate can fabricate one up for me for about £40-50 then i would just polish it myself, but like Tim says, i can understand your price mate
Re: Can anyone help even Tomo?
i'll have a word with my mate, sure he can sort me one out mr fabricator
