I did try egg.com as someone on here reccomended i did, and they came out as £1360 or there abouts, so that was alot better. you should try them, or churchill which gave similar results.

im 17 now with a 1.4 8v. I got my insurance with Quinn direct......its not bad £430 but with no mods, not the named driver and off road parking.
Jesus, where was a quote like that when i was looking?! at 18, the best i could find was 1250, 3rd party f/t, in my own name, with off road parking etc. as a named driver it actually went UP. Even the renewal is over 700 (although it is a damn good drop). I'm 20 in june. insurance is a joke.

Quinn Direcy are usually really cheap when you're on a provisional but as soon as you pass the cost goes right up! I had a couple of mates who were paying around £600 with Quinn on there provisional but it went up to £3000+ when they passed and you have to pay a certain amount to cancel the insurauce. Just be careful that they're not suddenly gonna spring something like that on ya..

I'm with Churchill, cost me just under £1500 for my first year fully comp.

I found that adding one of my parents as a named driver with me as the policy holder brought my price down. Obviously choose the one that has less claims and convictions etc :)

Careful with quin if you've not passed your test. They seemed pretty cheap on some cars i was looking at until i found out about massive price increases once i passed my test. Almost double what they quoted for a provisional in most cases i found! I''m with churchil on a 1.9 diesel polo (group 6) and it's costing me £1029 fully comp.

Wouldn't recommend that if you plan on driving the car more than occasionally, you could find your insurance invalid if you have an accident. If you have a crash and they investigate you may get caught out! You may not, but it's something to consider imo. If the car is registered in your name too it would all look a bit suspicious to me!

i think he means have his car as the main car, then add another one onto it (parent's car etc.) and do it. However, if i've got the wrong end of the stick and you are doing it that way, be very careful.

Try adrian flux! It is very good. My insurance for my 1.6 is around £1200. With my coilovers not declared. I went on www.adrianflux.com and put a quote in with my coilovers added and it was £694! Give them a try.

Go to http://www.tescofinance.com/personal/fi ... /index.jsp

and choose tesco value. Seriously low when a parent is main driver.

Got a quote with coilovers, headlights, alloys and induction kit added and they got back to me with £504 as a named driver to! Only difference is im 21, zero no claims as i have only been driving for 4 months, and i live on a navy base which helps but seriously give them a try. They specialise for modied cars.
