Since i bought my car the abs light has come on a few time in the really cold weather, now its on permately, its a 2000 1.4 8v MPI. Any ideas?
Also, I lowered it 40mm on 17s has anybody done this, and is there anything which can be done to the front arches to stop them scuffing on hard lock, I've already cut the back arches out.
ABS problem
Re: ABS problem
I get this occassionally too. It will come on when the ignition is started (as it should) then it'll go out when its done all its checks, then as soon as u start the car the ABS light comes back on again.
Could just be either a faulty ABS sensor, or u may just have brake dust on the sensor - which is often what mine comes down too.
Wouldnt worry too much, long as u dont get the handbrake light come on too when the handbrake isnt actually on. Make sure u check the brake fluid is alright. and just get it checked out at some point

Re: ABS problem
17s could have quite possible burned through the front ABS wiring. Have it off and have a look!

Re: ABS problem
I also have this problem, when people get in the back the ABS light comes on, meaning no ABS, then when another gets in, the handbrake light comes on too :@
