Hey all

I've just upgraded us to the latest version of the forum software.

While I was at it, I installed this nifty (imho) style, along with a template accelerator and a banner manager (so I can recoup some of the cost of running this forum).

Tell me what you think.

Is it any faster or any slower?

Hey, I was posting this afternoon when all of a sudden I was able to access your PHPBB menu... I knew something was coming up! :)

The new forum feels faster and is well designed, but the colour scheme could be a bit lighter. Or maybe it's just that I'd grown used to the previous colour.

Cheers!

Ahah, Quick replies etc!!

Basically, the forum upgrade was done mainly so that I can use the newer mods such as Quick Replies, Direct MSN Messaging etc...

Expect some tricky stuff coming to a forum near you soon!

It's more modern, less utilitarian I suppose. Which is good.

Also, for some reason it now logs me on automatically, which it never did before.

Don't notice a difference in speed to be honest, you can see the buttons at the top (Profile, PM's, etc) being parsed, I take it they're now GIF's, whereas they used to be text.

I can live with the banner btw, not annoying at all. Now how about that change in structure that a certain someone suggested...?

:D

Very nice, clean and concise :D

Just one suggestion though, how about moving the banner down to the top right, where UK-POLOS.net is? The ad looks a bit stranded at the mo if you know what I mean?

Cheers

Looking good Josh, I agree with MikeP about the Ad thing, would save some space!

Um, it's.. different

Easier on the eyes, that's for certain (bright white background is never totally good news on a PC screen). Can't tell a difference in loading speed really as I just got here. The other one did seem a bit sluggish from time to time tho, even on a half meg connection and a 1900+ chip.. Keep ya posted on that front :)

EDIT - quick question; have the submit and preview buttons been swapped? Usually I just whack submit and edit later if needed, but today i've just been constantly getting preview from my instinctive boshing of the right-hand button :(

Cant notice much of a difference in speed but i like the look of it.

I like the quick reply box as well that'll be neat when that is done.

it does seem very fast now to me.

not too sure about the design, the forum list seems a bit weird. maybe I just need to get used to it.
