Steering Noises

Post by yasslimz »

I have a polo gti and when I steer it left and right sometimes it makes a clicking noise, at first I thought it was scrating against my jeans. I dont know exactly what it is. At first I thought maybe its a wheel bearing so I let go of the steering wheel and checked if the car would steer itself to a direction which I think it did slightly to the left. Can anyone help would be good as its helpful as you know to everyone else. Would be very much appreciated.

The car will steer to the left when you let go - its a safety feature

Its most likely the springs rotating on the top mounts in the suspension as this makes a clicking noise.

Is this a clicking at low speed?

Could be a failed or failing ball joint... or a dodgy CV joint....
