Just shows that with half these mods all you really need is the balls to crack on and do it!!

Everything is a direct swap, that means the horns and airbag :) Worth doing though, feels so much nicer than the original wheel and looks a hell of a lot better too!

Also Daz, why don't you try the white clocks mod, will get you more familiar with the whole set up before your conversion!

Got some better pictures today, still need to give the interior a proper clean but it'll do for now!

I've also written another guide for anyone who wished to do the same to their 6N :)

Peoples opinions on these RXii's? I'm tempted to buy a set cheap and do the work myself. Split them and get the centres colour coded the same colour, would be a rather fitting colour match? or do you think its too much?

Hhmm yeh it looks good. Not fussed on the first two pics, but shows it can work well in the third.

little iffy myself. 3rd pic looks alright, first 2 not so much. maybe colour code the lip and black centres? i know it's been done before, but it might work better. personally i'd leave them silver

Staying silver, I wouldn't get the current ones refurbed i'd find a poor condish set and do it myself. No going to bother now I think it looks a bit tacky.

Steering wheel can be found by breakers, see if you can get the airbag cheap as most places will charge more for the GTi steering wheel WITH the airbag when in reality they are the same anyway. Chances are there are more crashed GTI's trying to get rid of the wheel than ones which airbags haven't blown so don't be afraid just to buy the outer grip part and get the airbag seperatly.

Gear stick with gaitor can be easily sources, just find someone breaking a GTI. The belts are very rare, even if you do find a set 90% of them are useless anyway as the pretensioners break during an accident. The front splitter can be found at a breaker or directly from VW, £48.

hope that helps :)
