Got my Polo back today

Post by Babe RuthLess »

After taking it to the dealer to have this weekend's damage repaired:

new door handle £28 + £7 labour :(

new plastic cover (blank) £0.50 :(

transparent 'safety film' on all windows £66

I'm still considering which radio will replace my old Sony though.

That handle is incredibly expensive! Perhaps all 9N parts are, but wow.

Yes, can you believe that? I choked (seriously) when the guy at the parts counter told me the price.

He did prepare me for it though, by saying that "it is the same handle used in the Golf". Mentioning that something is a Golf part is VW "code" for ultra-expensive. I don't know if that's the way in Europe, over here everything Golf-related costs 3 to 4 times the price of say, a Focus or Astra part.

And the 9N shares a lot of components with the A3 Golf... :(

That's from the VW dealer, I had the film fitted there. The usual street price is £42 - £48, but then again I trust my current dealer (Carbel) more than the accessory shops.
