For the rocker cover get some nitromos on it and scrub it clean of the old red. Then get some high temperature paint (halfords stock it) and apply a few coats. If your removing the cover to paint, you may want to look at replacing the gasket whilst your at it. If not, just be careful masking up.

In terms of engine bay cleaning I use Meguiars All Purpose Cleaner for general cleaning:

Autoglym machine cleaner for extra greasy spots (after using this a few times, I'm sure there's better out there.)
http://www.elitecarcare.co.uk/autoglym- ... leaner.php

To dress the plastics I use Chemical Guys trim gel:
http://www.elitecarcare.co.uk/chemical- ... im-gel.php

And for the pipes and other rubber bits I use Autoglym vinyl and rubber care:
http://www.elitecarcare.co.uk/autoglym- ... 15-off.php

Amoungst this stuff I also use regular car shampoo for certain painted areas, and various microfibre cloths and brushes.
