Progress complete, photos inside

Post by Jeff GTi »

made some superb progress with the car, im over the moon with it again, really looks the part, just needs a wash

rear adjusters were removed and the car dropped 14 mm, i was shocked that it went down so much but made up at the same time

fronts were lowered 12 turns when i called it a day, which totalled a 12 mm front drop so it stays nose down, looks awesome, im made up

shortened drop links was fitted and a huge massive thanks has got to go to my mate mike for his outstanding help today, really clued up and knew his stuff, we was sorted in no time

gotta say another huge thanks also to dub mike off VAG H20 for lending me his axel stands to allow us to do all this work today

shark fin aerial was then swapped over, fitted and re wired, as it came with the wrong plug on it,bit gutted about this but all is good now

finally the glass bung for the rear wiper from venom motorsport was fitted, iv gotta say for £31 delivered the fit quality is absolutely shockingly bad, it leaves a 2mm gap all round the hole in the window and sits another 2mm proud of the screen but with a bit of time spent prefectiong this, a jig was made up and i got it fitted centrally, flushed to the screen and filled the edges and the rear of it with the sealant, its all done and cleaned up now and it is another top notch job, bob on

photos will be up sunday i imagine due to the car being all dusty and not having the chance to wash it with the silicone being wet and im working until then too :D

but trust me, big improvements, shortened drop links give you loads more arb-driveshaft clearence, and still no banging, just need my tracking doing now again

so thanks to all who have pointed me in the direction of the links, aerial and glass bung, im made up,

coilovers - im running eibach pro street s coilovers with the rear adjusters removed and the front wound down just slightly lower, looks proper class, top of the tyres are all but level with the arches now, and i can still go well lower at the front, about 25 mm left of coils

Sorry to hear about the aerial plug mate, as when I checked my mums Polo Dune (early 2007 model but latest shape) it had the purple connector not the black one like I normally do and the quadlock stereo plug not ISO ......guess there are differences within the range.
