VW MFD Navigation

Post by nickp34 »

Car is a 2005 VW Polo. Came with the RCD double din cd stereo.

Bought a VW MFD Version D Navigation unit for the car which is the correct one for this car. Also bought the plug and plug cable.

However it isnt a simple case of plug and play. In the original wiring block only one set of the connections is removable from the block. This plug wont fit the plug and play loom socket.

Has anyone installed on of these before. What part do I need to go between the original loom and the plug and play loom for the MFD?

Thanks.

The old is called ISO and the new is the QUAD lock system.

The MFD version D is for pre 2005 vehicles not yours, even if its the right shape. You would need to rewire/buy an adapter and supply the unit with a seperate ignition feed to turn on and off to work

Yes, but may also need to attach a switched ignition feed too as the QUAD lock system uses a CAN_BUS to power up the stereo where ISO does not.
