im looking to get my polo 1.9 tdi sport 100bhp remapped on the weekend, the claims are that it can be pushing 155bhp, is this bad for the car? should i remap it to something a little less?

Re: remap
I have a Fabia 100PD and had mine mapped up to 141BHP and had it detuned a bit for fuel economy
My car is up to 145k miles now and am still on the OEM clutch too
So some are OK , mine is great

I've been looking at the custom code remaps and a stage one goes up to 170bhp, anyone had any issues with this kind of power increase?
(sorry for the post hijack)
Ive had my GT mapped by jabbasport , it has a stage 2 custom map and made 175.8 bhp and 306 lbs/ft , all seems well atm has 56k on the clock and am using the oem clutch etc. MPG wise seems to have improved on drives where i take it easy have seen an indicated 64mpg and normally get 60 indicated when my drivings "spirited". Torque is a bit much cant stick your foot down in the wet atall wheels just spin up and the front end moves around like mad, in the dry you can but again you get wheel spin and 1st and second gear run out pretty quick to me it seems.
Hope this has helped and more questions feel free to pm me

Re: remap
hey guys, how's it going?
my name is scott, im in melbourne australia, and im the proud owner of a wee polo tdi 1.9 axr pd101 9n3.
i love the little thing- it's zippy, it's roomy inside, and fuel economy is superb for someone who travels to the ski fields 2-3 times a week during our humble ski season.
i ran the thing stock for a while- almost a year, but recently i got chipped by Chipped UK, and i ordered the fast road and race maps.
im not experienced with "performance cars", mostly having driven a clunker of a land rover discovery before, but the fast road map (roughly 140hp and 315nm) feels awesome, and the track map (around 145-150hp and 325-330nm) is simply stellar.
i was just wondering- i have read on an aussie forum that i frequent, that the polo 9n3 1.9 tdi pd100 clutch is rated to 410nm- is this way, way off the mark?
how long you guys reckon a remapped pd100 9n3 polo tdi's clutch would last with 145hp and 325nm?
any info would be great!
cheers guys.
scott
