The top mounts are the bits that connect the top of the struts and/or dampers to the chassis. They are usually rubber things so that a high level of decoupling of road noise and shock from the chassis of the car. Also at the front they tend to have a bearing assembly to make turning the steering parts easier and quieter.

I am just changing the two front ones on mine, only because two of the bolts don't tighten up after fitting the strut brace

In the first instance, I'd only buy the two for the front and buy the bearings that sits below them - the rear ones, if needing to be changed, are a lot easier to change after fitting the suspension than the front ones are. Also buy in some bolts and nuts for that job.

The three bolts securing the top mount on each side + the nyloc nut at the end of the strut rod + maybe the same sized three bolts at the end of the TCA/ lower swivel + drive shaft nut + claming bolt and nut - same both sides apart from the drive shaft nut as only one should be needed.

I'd cut ECP out of the loop on this one and head straight for a VW, Seat or Skoda dealer's parts place.
