Oh lord!

Post by Aries »

Check this...

Took my car in to my family friend mechanic on sunday to get a noise checked, this is the problems they have came up with:

- Air Conditioning Compressor has gone screwy, made a really loud ticking noise. Mechanic phoned up VW and even with his discount could only get it down to £568. Looking to buy one from someone breaking theirs over at ClubPolo.

- He disabled the Air Conditioning system to see if there where any other problems, as I heard a whirring noise before the ac system began to make it's noise, and noticed the gearbox pin or something was becoming loose, bad news is I need the gearbox rebuilt with certain new parts, don't know the price on that yet...

- He also noticed the clutch was a bit s**t, and I agree, was very 'high' and felt s**t, so getting a new clutch put in at the same time, shouldn't cost that much.

What do you guys think, worst luck in the history of ever. Does everything make sense, or is there any information you could give to help?

P.S, gearbox scheduled to be done on the 30th, can't have it back till then in fear of the pin breaking off and ruining the gearbox!

Not to mention I need a car whilst all this is happening, 10 days without a car for me is like actual hell.

Just saw this...don't know why it's so cheap but for 10 days does anybody think that's worth it?

Public transport unfortunately due to my area would mean being late for work and sorting something out with them, so it's kinda a last resort, and nope family members all use their cars daily.
