Rear Speakers Upgrade

Post by jrw »

Has Anyone had the VW upgrade speakers fitted to their car?

If so what are they like?

Im thinking of having them for my 3 door as part of my compo package.

I also want to upgrade my rear speakers (well, actually all speakers). Some time ago I removed the rear panel to see what was causing an strange sound and I took some pictures that maybe can help you too. I don't know if there are speakers that will fit. The speaker is on a plastic tube, I don't know how to describe you, just see the pictures

Oh! I ordered my polo with the extra 8 speakers. Also the tweeter is a bit strange. It is just "glued" to the plastic. There are no screws :?

BTW, the rear tweeters sound very low, in my opinion. You have to put your ear on it to hear them! I don't like it, that's the reason I want to change them.

P.S.: The thing making noise was a cable. I fixed it with some sticky tape.

Someone must have had some upgraded. I need to know how much better they sound cos at the moment I have my fader nearly all the way to the front cos the rears fart so much when there's the slightest bit of volume.

TBH mate, you're better off getting an after market set-up. Go to somewhere like Halfords and you can test out the speakers for yourself.

May even work out cheaper than the VW upgrade kit (new anyway).

It is a Gamma h/u with 8 speakers.

So you reckon to get some aftermarket speakers such as infinity?

Do these fit properly where the existing ones fit?
