LOL

no it was just one of 3 or 4 rather cr4ppy jobs i had over the summer - trying not to spend too much time on the dole when I still had about fifty quid left of my overdraft allowance ;)
(the worldly possessions, being somewhat lighter than phonebooks, took up the full height of the back as well as causing serious damage to visibility out of the passenger window.. and the aerodynamics as they were on the roof too)

jacked em all in pretty quickly... think i earned a whopping total of about eighty pounds for foot delivering about a tonne and a half of the things and near knackering the suspension!
(then there was the uniform shop, and that nazi-run spar..)

hehe

2-cylinder supercharged diesel? thats... um... how can i put it?

ah yes

MENTAL :P

Another idea - Hybrid? (would work well with the estate especially if the spare tyre hasn't moved - stick the batteries into the wellspace left behind it)

I was just thinking about that today, in stop-go traffic with the still-knackered clutch.. was having to put the engine on and off a lot as it was starting to readjust itself into crunchy/auto-creep zone (also saving a bit of petrol). In the end I got too bloody tired of it and just left it in 2nd... leaping it forwards on the starter and then killing it directly with the ignition when needing to stop.

So... even just a little leccy motor attached the rear wheels with a secondary ordinary battery would work.... just for creeping along at like 5-10mph for 2 or 3 miles. Doesn't need an extraordinary range or speed... cuz by the point you're in conditions that permit over 10mph, you've got the engine started and popped it into 2nd already :)
(also handy for a keep-going push between gears if your clutch/box is playing up, or the engine is suffering response issues - handy for your misbehaving one Gaz... or even for a half horsepower overtaking push :))
