Exhaust..

Post by emma_88 »

Right, it has come the time when I need to replace the exhaust on the Polo cos it's blowing badly! And the emissions light is on. Now payday is next Friday so that will be the day it'll be getting orderedjust thought I'd ask sooner rather than later.

I'm after a nice sound, not too loud, but at least some noise there. If that makes sense?

I've been on the phone to Milltek but they don't stock on for the 2001, typical. Also been on the phone to Venom, and the nice man there reccommended the Jetex stainless full system.

So, what does everyone have/recommend? Cos I've been umming and arring to whether a showing tailpipe will look decent :? Seen some pics of my mates golf where the bumper has been cut and a diffuser? Put in place, to which I think looks mega cool, and would like to do the same. But I'm still in two minds.

Please help dudes.

i think it does look cool with a pipe cut into the bumper but you cannot beat stealth.....hiddne tailpipes for the win!

i have always had powerflow systems and never had any issues

I've got a Powerflow cat-back with hidden tailpipe too. Just make sure they don't make it too loud 'cos they do have a habit of doing that

I paid only £210 for mine (3 years ago)!

Powerflow cat back hidden exit. £320 last year.

Make sure you go for the quietest option, trust me it will still be louder than standard

Also i stayed standard bore size.

nothing wrong performance wise as i got 134.9 bhp result at Motorscope rollers, obviously not all down to exhaust, but you get the idea

good luck

Ahh thanks for the help. Think I'm gonna have to pay my local powerflow dealer thingy (Gates Tyres) a visit.

So go for the quietest option and hidden exit.. Think am gonna have to have a photoshop done with the tailpipe.

Iv gone for just a back box, 2.5 inch stateside cherrybomb at the cost of 190quid fitted!

But soon to get de-cat and manifold, i like the look of a single round just pocking out the back!

I HAVE to get the full thing sorted, unfortunately.
The single pipe at the back IMO, looks silly, if not cut into the bumper, but I've never seen one on a Polo done.

Been speaking to powerflow dudes today.. Looking at around £300. Which can't be bad.

Was that standard bore size and quietest setting?
