Do i need to go a bit bigger???

Im going to be putting a subwoofer, amp, new speakers all-round and a new head unit into my mk3 coupe, will i need to replace the battery or alternator etc,
for bigger ones?

Not for 'bigger ones' no, unless your driving a huge system.

I would check to see the last time the battery was replaced though, if at all. It may tip it over the edge and need replacing.
