Alloy Wheels

Post by 6N2 GTI 00 »

I am in the market for some 16" wheels for 2 reasons reallys, 1, my BBS RXII's need refurbing and 2, I want bigger wheels anyway to fill the arches more.

BBS RX2's are hard to find in 4 stud 16"s and are expensive when they do come along.
I am tempted by these at the moment

I also like the look of these LENSON wheels, but they are slightly "cheap" looking in comparison to genuine BBS wheels

Keskin wheels are £750 with tyres which is reasonable.

If anybody has any 16" 4 Stud BBS RX2's or RX's for sale then please let me know

Cheers

RXs are where it's at. keep youe eye out. edition38 and wheelwhores forums are good for second hand gems.

what about D90s? or modernlines?

Funnily enough I'm currently in the process of refurbishing a set of 16" RXII's which used to be on my GTi.

Rims have been refurbished and polished before so they had no laquer peel or other corrosion marks. Centres had some slight paint peel, so they've been sent away to be bead blasted and power coated.

I'll have the centres back from the powder coaters on Tuesday so they'll be all put back together by this time next week. Drop me a PM if you're interested.

I would prefer BBS wheels in fairness but the Keskin wheels are really nice.

Redline - I am certainly interested, I will send you a PM later on mate. Nice one

A set of 16" BBS RX went on eBay last night. I stopped bidding at £220 (I was looking at adding £30 for courier charges, and they needed a refurb badly!) but the final sale price was £311! Madness. They do look good on the GTi though, you only have to take a look at Alun's car (cymrupolo) to agree 8)

Yeah as soon as a set of BBS wheels go on ebay they always get good money despite their condition.

Cheers for the info Tim, I think its got to be either RX, RXII, Keskin or Ronal LS wheels, those are the 4 sets that stand out for me but its hard to decide. The problem with the Ronal wheels is that the LS wheels are only available in 15" and not 16".

Ideally I want RXII's but those KESKIN wheels are very similar and cheaper (when new).

I am not in an immediate rush for a set but I have been rolling around with the 15" tarnished RXII's for over 6 months now and with summer coming up I want to replace them.

Cheers, appreciate the comments

Ben
