Guys with Strut Braces....

Post by Tim_GTi »

Anyone got an up close picture of how they fitted their coolant tanks after the brace was fitted?

I've fitted mine using a single bolt that came with the kit, and it resting on part of the ABS system. Would prefer to use a better method but ran out of ideas before it got dark.

Any help would be appreciated.

right, plan.

i'm going to drill out the coolant mount from the strut, move it round a bit (so it's free of the strut brace) and drill new holes for it.

i'll grommet up the holes i make to free it from the strut.

good idea?

Is this the OMP strut brace Tim? Did it not come with the extra bracket to relocate the expansion tank?

This was how I fitted mine a few years back:

Tried a few homemade style brackets. Also tried cutting one out of metal much like the one your suppose to get. But can't make anything solid.

I've got it secure for now, so am going to ahve to search around a few OMP dealers and ask them if they have any spare I think.

I'll have a look in my garage tomorrow, might have the bracket from mine lying about from when I removed the strut brace.
