My 9N Tdi

So I was browsing eBay one day and came across this CAT-D 2002 Polo 1.4 TDI. Was advertised as an electrical fault and I managed to get it for cheap. Turned out it needed a new engine as the previous one was flooded.

Bought the car like this:



Had to get it trailered to my local garage, then they started on putting the new engine in (havent got any pics)

Then I bought some 16" Lenso BSX's, getting them fitted at the same garage that did the engine.



Getting them tracked



Then a week later I had a oil leak so back to the garage to sort out the leak



I then fitted in my sound system which consists of a Alpine CDE-9874RB headunit, JBL GT-410 10" Subwoofer, JBL GTO-752e amp. I'm looking into changing the headunit so it works with my iphone and upgrading the door speakers.

My future plans are to get the car lowered, tint the windows with a light smoked effect, a remap, smooth the bumpers, and im now off to Brighton to pick up some Votex sideskirts I'm still on the hunt for the front and rear Votex valances so if anyone sees any for sale, please PM me.

Getting there!

Get those strips colour coded, will make a big difference.

I run the KW V1 coilovers and can recommend them, although you have to decide that if you don't want to adjust height maybe it's best to go for a spring and shock kit for a lot less money (about half the cost). I hear the Eibach set is good.

Yeah I want to get the front strip removed and smoothed over with a custom smaller plate recess made, for teh sides, get the colour coded, and for the rear remove the strip. I have been told about a budget air ride kit which I may consider, just trying to install it myself might prove difficult. I went to style dynamix in hayes the other day and they recommended v maxx coilovers, so might look into that.

You could just go for the Eibach pro street springs thats what ill probably do

I was running 30mm Eibach pro street springs before the coiovers and they were great no problems at all and a nice ride

If you get springs your always going to want to go lower.

Id wait and just get coilovers.

Ive got AP's and they are a good coilovers.

Or alot of people now are going for Hot Tuning ones from ebay, get the car on its arse but not too sure what ride comfort is like.... But you get what you pay for

I went to Style Dynamix in Hayes, and they said hot tuning ones are rubbish. I was looking at AP coilovers and might go for those, quite a few people have recommended them to me.

Ive got AP coilies, so has panda.

Only problem with them is the backs dont quite go as low as I want them to.... so some adjustments are to have to be made lol.

Lol, i'm not too bothered about going for a mega drop, too many speedbumps around my area, going to go roughly 60mm at the most. A bit of a bad update, was driving around and there was some dirty grinding noise coming from the brakes, when braking. Turned out the wheel was grinding the brakes, I had to get new brakes, the calipers seized and wouldn't come off, they had to take apart some other components of the car to get the calipers off. Had to get new front brakes, a hub, wheelshafts, some other stuff I cant remember of the top of my head but it all came up to £500 worth . So thats slowed down a lot of what is to come in the future now.

UPDATE

A big update, well for me anyways lol. I made a trek to Northampton yesterday to buy some new bumpers off Catman, cheers for that mate. Here his the finished product after spending 6 hours working on the car:

Looks good, Deffos needs whacking wiht the lowering stick though.
