Implications on a de cat

Post by polospeed »

I have a 1.4 16v 100 bhp and my exhaust if blowing, I went to a local garage and the told me I have a hole in the exhaust where it meets the cat.

My question is if I went for a de cat full stainless steel exhaust system what are the implications when it comes to the mot? do you need a cat?

Any help would be very much appreciated

Tony :D

you'll need a cat for the MOT but if you can make up a flange so when it's MOT time you can remove a bit of pipe and put it back in.

It's not the actual missing cat itself that's illegal, it'll be the fact that your car is emitting more polluting fumes than the legal limit. But yeh, running decat on a catted car is illegal.
