Abs light!

i have a slight problem my abs light has come on i've had it plug into vagcom and it has come up with abs pump. but recently i removed my audio system and i diconnected the battery would this have anything to do with the light coming on???? your help would be much help alex

i had the same problem a while ago, after i disconnected my battery, take all the fuses out one by one on top of the battery and clean them if this doesnt solve it theres a connection under the rear seats i unpluged ad repluged in and its sorted my problem out

Mine too..... Research suggests it could be a bad earth or "semi short" where the insulation in the cables is breaking down somewhere..... I just tend to ignore it... I prefer driving without the ABS working... the car is more predictable under heavy braking!

It could be the ABS pump module (the bit that bolts on the pump) When they get hot, the solder gives way (although not straight away which is why the light goes on and off a million times) Eventually it will stay on and then need replacing or fixing.

This was the case with me anyway.
