Mk 4/5 polo estate

Post by JSdragonpolo »

Hi Guys

Sorry, I don't really know where to post this but hopefully somebody can help. :)

My Dad has recently bought a polo estate (the one with the mk4 front end, but mk5 interior). It currently has manual front windows and he was thinking about converting them to electric. Does anybody know whether the wiring is already there for the motors, or if its a different loom for the manual window setup?

Thanks for your help lads.

Its a different loom, though if you take your time and can get the loom, it could be retrofitted.

Thanks Alex

Do you know if it would be a lenghty job or not? Would a breakers yard have it do you reckon?

Also, do you know what parts would be required?

Sorry for all the questions but you guys seem like you know your stuff! :D

It would take you a good few hours.

As for a breakers yard possibly. Youd need to motors, glass, regulators, switches, complete wiring loom, then a good know how of how to transfer it all over

It can be done - just think carefully :)
