Well, I'm glad to say that I will be making DubRun '09! It's a local get together for enthusiasts, held in Durban, which is about a 950km drive from where I live, in Port Elizabeth. :) I'm sure Sooty will be happy to see familiar faces and possibly her original owner there.

I'm hoping to have a few odds and ends done before I make my way on the 950km journey to be with you guys for the weekend. I don't think I'll have the down and out mods I was hoping to do done, but there's always next year. ;) The spacers might be here in time for the event, but I should have my GTi side skirts here and on in time. I'll have my smoothed front bumper done. There are plenty other odds and ends, but I think those will have to wait.

I'll be detailing her in a couple weeks time, to make sure she's neat and tidy - although, she'll get sickly dirty from the journey. Time to get my Makita, LC pads and Menz out. Thanks again to Don, Dave and others for their patience in answering the many detailing questions I've had and I'm sure will continue to have. :)

Hopefully I'll be able to update my thread with a few photos in a couple days time. :)

Just a few photo's I found. These were taken before I put my Eibach's in, back in November 2008 I think. There wasn't much of a drop but the springs are more progressive. Might be going lower soon...will have to wait and see.

Well, my update had been INCREDIBLY over due. Most of the changes were made prior to DubRun, only one of which was completed late last night - I'm seriously looking forward to showing this last mod.

In the meantime, here's two quick photo's I shot when we popped down to the track last weekend:

I'm sure most of you will be able to point out the changes made. :wink:

I've got to run - but I'll post more during the course of the weekend. :twisted:

:evil: I just need to get the rest of the images together, and finish the write up, then I'll post, hopefully by the end of the week.

Here's a quick shot of her on the rollers - excuse the dirt, was raining too... :cry:

This has been a plan in the works for a long time. I can gladly say I'm really happy with the way things have turned out.

I'll scan the dyno sheet shortly and post - I'm just pissed off 'cos the printer was running out of ink and causing all kinds of fong kong. Atleast the plot itself is clear. :D

The config used on the progressive controller is the everyday start position. Had I started spraying a little earlier, you would've seen her spool a lot earlier.

1st run she made 103Kw & 330Nm with the WMI inactive, run 2, which was done 30seconds later, WMI active, she made 114Kw & 360Nm.

So that's an 11Kw & 30Nm gain. :smile:

I thought I'd list the changes done externally, and add photo's as we go along. :D

* Matt black badge up front
* Debadge at the rear
* PGTi side skirts
* Gloss Black B Pillars
* Ichiba 15mm wheel spacers and 45mm wheel bolts

I'll post shots of each soon.

Here's my dyno plot. As mentioned previously, their printer was playing up and started to run out of ink and go all fong kong

Don't ask me why my test 3 results are printed twice either, but test 2 (WMI inactive) was 103kw & 330Nm.

Thanks whitegtipolo. :) It's your guys Polo's that have made me strive to make subtle yet effective changes. I've still got a host of things to do, but they'll come in due course. OEM+ FTW!

Sooty wasn't built in a day, I mean Rome. :lol:
