Today I was driving as I do everyday; but its been quite weird. I've been driving and for some reason 2 different speed cameras have gone off as I've driven past. On one of the cameras the side on which I was driving has no speed lines, the camera is on the other side of the road and the other side of the road has the speed lines. But I've driven past this camera twice today and its gone off. I wasn't going quick 35-40. Another camera has gone off as I've driven past close to home, but this time Im 100% sure I was doing 30, as I've been worried all day.
The first camera which went off on 2 different occasions today, will I be affected by that even though there were no line on my side.
The one by our home on which I was doing 30, on the opposite side the car was quite quick. Could this just be a massive coincidence, or could something like my speedo be out?
I've been driving 2 years almost no problems with speeding, as I drive quite sensibly. Bricking it is a total understatement!!

Re: Speed Cameras
i hate to tell you but one time ages ago there was a camera on one side of the road and for a joke at 2am i fort it would be funny to do like 50 past this camera 4 lanes away as it meant i was on the opposite side of the road and there was no white lines , it got me good
lol 3 weeks later my points and fine arrived
Re: Speed Cameras
if you haven't heard anything within two weeks you are ok. These cameras sometimes flash because a bird has flown by. Some even flash as though it is self checking for some reason. If you were doing 30mph then nothing to worry about. drove pass a camera doing 36mph in a thirty near Newcastle and it didn't flash me or the guy behind me, I would think you will be alright. I know how you feel though one in Glasgow flashed me and I had to go through about a dozen times to convince myself that I wasn't in the wrong as I was travelling at 30mph. Good luck.

Re: Speed Cameras
its 28 days they have to charge you but any fines etc are usually issued within 2 weeks. splitting hairs i know but they never wait the full 28 days...they want their money too much

Re: Speed Cameras
I've been reading on other site, apparently If camera is on opposite side and is facing you, with no line you your side, it cannot get you. I hope my denial is actaully ture. 3 flashes 1 day? after 2 years of impecable driving! I seriously hope to god that what I've read on other sites is truie and that Im in the clear.

Was it a GATSO yeh? (yellow big box). If so they only catch you whilst facing away from traffic, not towards.DeepM1989 wrote:I've been reading on other site, apparently If camera is on opposite side and is facing you, with no line you your side, it cannot get you. Re: Speed Cameras
Yeah it was. the general consensus is that they dont get car going towards them, but I've read a few stories online where they have. I just hope I'm not one of the unlucky few. Having said that There are NO calibration lines on my side, so I hope Im in the clear.Tim_GTi wrote:Was it a GATSO yeh? (yellow big box). Got the cars speedo checked(which was fine), beacuse getting flashed 3 times in one day is just unheard of. Annoying thing is I wasn't even that much over the limit, must have been doing 35-40 in the 30 zone.
