Mounting subwoofer box

Post by Whos Adam? »

How have you guys gone about this.
I need something that will keep it from moving, however i do use my boot so i need to be able to take it out without taking the car apart!

I thought about having an MDF frame that sits around the bottom of the box that is bolted to the floor of the boot.

just seeing if anyone had any better ideas!

Nice one

Don't bolt it to the floor, just asking for a water leak or rust,

Be creative, most people do this

Get a sheet of mdf,
Take their carpet out and draw round it as a template,
Cut out the template
As you can imagine this may be a bit of a snug fit so dont force it in if it doesn't want to go in
Shave bits off to make it a better fit, you may want to remove it again at some point

Your options are as follows,

Remove your speaker and screw the box to the board,
Cut a section out of the MDF floor the same size as the base of your box,

problem solved

If you still want to use your spare wheel it will take a bit more work, I used to have a website saved with a step by step on building a complete boot install but it was on my old computer, i'll try to find it.

i bolted mine to the back of the rear seats and fixed the amp on the underneath of sub box,
looks pretty neat and if you ever need the boot space just flip the back seats down :D
