Best to get yourself an online quote from say elephant or tescos

I remember when I was looking for quotes as a "new driver" for a 900cc civic, it was like £1,100... which is too much imo.
And just waiting a few years before I actually needed a car reduced my premiums

As above you need to get yourself a quote. It's very likely to be above 1k but all depends on your postcode, parking and personal situation.

My first quote was 1250 from endsleigh, but I was 18 at the time, which may change things a little. As said, have a look around, see what you can get.

I took my first insurance out with Endsleigh too. They seem to be one of the cheapest (which isn't actually cheap) for full-time students. Recall paying TPFT £1235 on a 1.2 Punto at 22yrs of age!

^^ Its defo cheaper as a 2nd driver but you'll regret spending the cash and not earning your NCB.

If you take that route you should look for an insurer who gives 2nd named drivers NCB too

Including an older person as a 2nd driver makes your policy cheaper. In their opinion the car will be in your hands less meaning less chance of there being a claim!
