I meant to test drive your Mk6. Only driven a 55bhp model and I'm bored studying and it's a sunny day and my neighbour has a Votex kitted Mk6 which looks damn fine. Only 55bhp again. He's moving out within a month so it'll be acceptable to buy one after that I think. hehe

I'm south. Damn. I'm in Netherlee if it means anything to you. Beside Giffnock and Newlands. Five to ten mins drive from Shawlands.

55bhp seemed surprisingly nippy but that was just me in the car. Only did ten or so miles but it seemed fine. Love the sound of the 1.2 engine.

I'm right beside you at Cally uni. Degree year.

From experience the 1.2 is a gutless engine, it is very noisy especially as you need to rev its nuts off to get any sort of credible acceleration. Try sitting on the M way with it for a couple of hours I got a migrane :( .
Also not forgetting the Polo and its derivatives are all very heavy cars so smaller powered engines dont suit them.

How old are you I am only 21 living in a dodgy area of Derby driving a 1.6 Oct***a Estate 1.6 with 1 years driving experience and it comes out at under a grand. Problem is the percieved image that comes with VW ramps up the insurance, bite the bullet get a Skoda

As good as either of the two cars in the poll and cheaper, but if your determined to be a badge snob (with a SEAT  ) go for the Ibiza as it looks less dull.

nevermind the peak power number, what's the dynograph (and torque) and gearing like?

i mean, the daihatsu move puts out 66hp, but you have to squeeze the bugger til it squeaks before you get that. um. i mean, take it to 8000rpm after sitting through several thousand revs of no-torque :D

btw what DOES a 1.2 sound like? :?:
