Coilovers itself will make a hell of a diference. You may want to get 45profile tyres instead of those baloons!

Debadging is free so get rid of them on the tailgate.
Remove the rubstrips along the side. Don't worry there's no holes behind them.

Spraying it matt black would be much better but yours looks like its pretty clean so I wouldn't bother as it'll de-value it a bit.

matt black is a good choice:P if you spray it matt black and u scratch it you can get a tin and do it yourself, you could spray the whole car for £50 and it looks awesome

as said above pal, lower it, de badge it and remove bump strips. keep the colour tho, tidy ride you got started there!

When taking the rubstrips along the side off make sure you take your time. Many ppl dont take their time and end up ripping the paint off as well. (Like Me)

i have de-badged it (1.4 & polo logos)
and i tried to take the side strips off, but forgot she had a paint job a few years ago, and once they are off they will leave a paint line, so there is no point in doing that.

No ones mentioned interior mods, especially since youll always see the inside when driving, best for everyday driving ie 6n2 steering wheel and/or dash, replace seats, carpet, headliner.
16v bumpers are a good mod, maybe gloss black the roof, could go on and on lol all the ideas i have
but as said above coilies are the way to go, even if it is cheaper ones until u can afford more expensive ones.

not the best but itll drop your polo and make it handle a bit better also its the REAL dub way of scraping tht BEhind
