Hey peeps I've just got myself a polo gti from a fellow forum member and thought id carry the build thread on for myself. in all fairness the mods already done to the car will stay as they are neat and suit it (imo).

just a few things i wana change on it but ill tell you lot when it comes to doing the mod!

here is the car as it stands today

Spec
Model: 2001 Polo GTi

Engine: A new 1600 16v engine, BMC CDA with cold air feed

Suspension: FK highsport Coilovers

Brakes: G60 ATE Front Discs + carriers (280mm), Mintex Extreme Front Pads

Wheels and Tyres: BBS LM reps 7x16 et20 front, et15 back with 195-40-16 toyo t1r's all round.

Exterior Styling: Smoothed front and rear bumpers, Anthracite Mirror Caps, Enfig S2000 Aerial, Red piping around the GTi Grille, colour coded GTi Splitter, colour coded rear VW badge, Black painted B-Pillars, Aero Wipers, Headlight Protectors

Interior Styling: OEM VW Black Leather Heated Interior, Wolfsburg Floor Mats, Audi TT Pedals, Black VW Tax disc holder, PG Tips Monkey, C'Mon Toy

ICE and Security: Alpine Headunit + Upgraded Speakers JBL 10 in sub








I've had it tinted and added some scene stickers since but I'm waitin for my camera to come back to me ill upload some pics of this asap!

I love this GTi. Good buy. Loving the tints, suits it well. Are the fronts tinted? I'm sure that's illegal is it not?

front tints are only illegal if they do not let enough light into the vehicle! im running 30/70 so my rears let 30% of light through and my fronts let 70% of light through. this is totally legal!!

next update------ stickers, interior lights, exterior lights and small detail work!

Nice one Neil! take them spanners to the next MIDSDUBCLUB meet because im gunna roll my arches there infront of everyone at the meet that is warey to have it done!! Hopefully people seeing me do my own car will put there worries to bed!!!!!

Im just in the process of getting a power supply sorted for the heat gun!!

will keep you updated on it but defo take them spanners oh and grab me some midsdubclub stickers if you can mate Red (ideal) but not that fussed mate

Very nice mate, always loved this car. Some skinnier tyres would sort it right out though, then you could bring it down .

just a pointer: your front windows are illegal. Although the legal limit is 70% light, VW glass is pre-tinted, so your 30% tint combined with their 15% (rough guess) puts it over this! Just so you know.

gotta catch me first lol nah fcuk em anyway they can pull it off ill have it done again afta! ill do 85% light on the fronts then its perfect 70%!

Oh, just to let you know, Wayne. One of my mates has just got 3 points for having his front windows tinted. Just be careful.

thanks emma! when ive got some spare cash ill get them sprayed and ill do the wing mirrors to match! Did i see you put a drivers side stubby on yours? where did you get it from? been looking on ebay.de but im not sure about ordering from oversea's.

if the coppers pull me about the tints then they pull me, saying that they look alot darker on the pics then what they are when your looking through them! but oh well lets just hope they dont spot me lol!

aye wheels would look nice like that.

I wouldnt worry too much about shipping overseas, email them in basic english before hand to see if they ship, everyone i've contaced on there has been sound.
