Does your 9N 1.9 TDI - Have Door/Puddle lights??

Hi All,

Me again. Still new to the forum and lots of questions to ask...

Sorry to bother you with what may be classed as a stupid question, but does your 9N 1.9 TDI have the red/white puddle lights, which illuminate when you open the door?

I ask because my other half's 9N 5-door 1.4 TDI, DOES have the puddle lights, but my 3-door 1.9, DOESN'T have them....and I'm puzzled.
Is this a 1.4/1.9 thing or a 3-door/5-door thing?

It's possible to retrofit them...quite easy to do. I can't be bothered though. Mine's a 53 reg 1.4 TDI and I don't have them.

Chewy, you're right.
My girlfriends 1.4 is a 2002, but my 1.9 is 53reg - 2003.

I guess the lights come on older models....which I think sucks!
Quite liked having them on my old Golf GTI and was hoping to see them light up on the Polo.

As for retrofitting them, I'm not a bright spark (!) when it comes to electrics, So I'd probably goof it up and wire the lights to the stereo!

Get the lights off a mk4 golf and take them to an auto electrician

I can confirm we've got the puddle lights on our (3 door) 1.2 model on an 02 plate. On the downside we haven't got a bootlight, which I think may have been added later? All seems a bit random really.

Mine is same as yours... 1.2 3d with puddle lights but no boot light. Only difference is its a 51 plate.
