Hi Guys,
I have had my GTI for about a year and a half now and haven't really done much work on it due to being at Uni. Ive just started a full time job and have vowed to tidy my car up alot as she is looking very tatty!
Firstly i really want a set of 16" BBS RXii' i'm keeping an eye out on ebay as i quite want an old pair that i can make a refurb project. i know there are a set on here but id have to chuck the tyres and the centers are pretty corroded so i think they are a bit over priced.
Secondly i want a good suspension kit, i don't want coilovers as i had some before and the ride was not grate and i don't want to be really low again! so any suggestions on good well priced 30-40mm kits? im guessing im ok to go 40mm on 195-40-16 tyres with out rubbing?
There are a long list of small mods that i want, but i don't really know the best place to get them?
>>I already have brought some red grill pipeing from e-bay.
>>I want new grey and red Mats? this a VW job? any part numbers?
>>i want a new electric door mirror switch as mine broke off! again VW im guessing? part number anyone?
>>i want to get front and rear aero wiper blades where can i get these?
>>i want audi tt Pedals, im guessing Audi dealer?? part number?
>>S200 ariel? Honder dealer? partnumber?
>>Are there legal pressed plates? if so where do i get them from?
>> I want a black BMC where is the cheapest place to get this?
Also does anyone know any good body work places in or near bristol as i have lots of scrapes and marks to get touched up!
I know this is a big cry for help but any information would be amazing!
Thanks Chris

Re: Overhaul
I'd look at going at least 50mm on a 6N2, they're ridiculously high to start with, 30/40mm and won't really notice. 50mm will go nice on 16" RXIIs.
Grey and Red mats are from the GTi, apparently they're discontinued and aren't available from the dealers. Every few months someone seems to find a new set though. So it's worth a try? Part numbers for the mats are:
front : 6N2061225E ALAS OR 6N2 061 225 E ECG (not 100% sure which one)
rear: 6N0061226E BLAS
Wipers, get the fronts from wiperblades.co.uk. Your looking for the retrofit ones, just type in 2000 polo into the model search engine and you'll find them. Rear I think you have to get that from the Passat IIRC? arm included.
Audi TT pedals:
LHD Acc: 8N1 721 647B
Brake: 8N0 721 173 A01C
Clutch: 8N0 721 174 A01C
You need the LHD accelerator, as the RHD one doesn't fit properly.
S2000 aerial, I got mine from eBay. If you can't find one though, find an S200 reg number (off net or nearby) and quote it to the Honda dealers, they can probably track you down the part number from that.
Legal plates: Ye you can get legal ones, check out www.dubmeister.co.uk for them. They're £30 a set.
BMC: not sure where's the cheapest place these days, they're normally about £150 without all the piping (You need a 90 degree pipe for the throttle body and an air feed).
What kind of knocks and scrapes do you have? I have a good guy based in South Wales?
