Sony CD player, sunroof, ABS, alloy wheels, Momo steering wheel and other
stuff. Now the boring Autotrader bit's done, here's the full story....
I bought the car at the beginning of the year as a non runner with a busted
cam belt and set about bringing it back to life. The car had 134,750 on the
clock when I first got it and is now showing 135,986. I replaced the engine
with an 84,000 miler, and when it was in bits the engine was fitted with a
new water pump, full cam belt kit (including tensioners), temp sensors,
thermostat, leads and a new clutch, as well as giving it a full service.
When the car was up and running I started on the modifications with a brand
new set of Raceland coilovers (Including new top mounts etc). The coilovers
where swiftly followed with a bonnet bra, badgeless grille and the Momo race
wheel (complete with airbag wheel boss). After these bits came the reason for
buying the car, the fitting of the Porsche 928 wheels with FK 4x100 to 5x130 spacers
(30mm up front and 25mm in the rear). The wheels are nice and straight but they would
benefit from a professional polish (for which I have had a quote of £30 a
wheel) and a smaller tyre size for that stretched look and extra clearance
(Bigger Drop )!! The Olop drives straight, brakes well and pulls like a train with
no nasty noises. All in all a great little car.
The car is MOT'd till December and taxed till the end of August but will be
sold with a brand new MOT.
And now for the bad bits... The only thing I can think to mention is the
bodywork, which 'HAD' a few very light scratches (as would be expected on a
car of this age), a small dent on the passenger front wing and a patch on
the rear bumper where the paint is cracked... Until last week, when a fence
at work, fell on the off side front wing and left two small dents/scratches (ARSE)!!
All three bits are pictured below.
I've got a non VAG project on the books so the Polo has to go
Any one who is interested can pm me or Call me on 07799655411. The car is located in Exeter, Devon.
Until the annoying accident last week, I wanted £1500 for the car. Now I'll accept
£1350 for the car as it is or £1500 with the dents in the wings sorted and the rear bumper
repainted (your choice)
