Sorry! I'll try my best to get some tomorrow. It' goes into the bodyshop on Monday, so need to get em before then.

I've also recieved my full frontal bra for the front, custom made so it doesn't have the numberplate recess cut, looks really smart actually (I'm one for normally hating the look of bras)

Awesome stuff Tim, that number plate bracket is quite innovative! Wish I was keeping my Polo and kept on modding it, need to save $$$ for the new car though. That said I've just dropped mine off to the bodyshop to get some dents and random bits sorted. Gonna cost me £1150

Haha good timing, well done on doing the rocker, I remember how much of a pain that was stripping the old paint off!

Here are some pics, my lens is STILL broken, so all I had was a macro, apologies for the claustaphobic shots!

A pillar & tweeter cover:

C pillar, here I played with the fabric to show you it's texture 8)

Unfortunately I was having problems with the roof sticking due to the adhesive, so It's off at the moment whilst I redo it.

Does anyone know if the interior roof handles are neccessary for MOT? I was tlaking to Alex about this who seemed to think they were, I've heard mixed reviews though?

As I said before, the car is in the bodyshop at the moment, getting the front & rear bumper redone, the bonnet resprayed, the wings blended and the de-locked handle resprayed.

Here's the scratch on the rear bumper:

The dent on the bonnet:

And damage on the front bumper:

As I only had a macro lens, I thought I may as well toy with it 8)

And a fairly recent shot without the front plate 8)

When i get the car back, I'll be putting the engine bay back together and cleaning it up, so I'll get pics on that soon, then it's back to uni for me! So the pepperpots will be coming back on, and the finance take a huge plunge!

Commments welcome

Looks brilliant Tim, can't wait to see the final shots of the interior when its all been done.

Nice to see someone trying something different, looks great so far.

That Bottom pic of the car is simply stunning, without doubt the best detailed GTI on here 8)
5 door hatches have never been for me but yours looks the absolute business!

it will be nice to get it back from the bodyshop, how much is it roughly for the bonnet respray?

Keep up the good work

Cheers Ben! Appreciate the kind words 8)

It cost me £250 for the lot, £100 for the rear bumper (this was paid for by the person who bumped me!), then I'd say £80 for the front bumper, leaving £70 for the bonnet? Obvious rough estimate though.

Absolutely spot on! I've been very eager to see these pics. Again, top job. Noticed your seatbelts though, red witha black strip, mine are opposite. I think I want yours now haha.

As for the 'jesus christ' handles I think you're on about? I don't see why you do need them for an MOT. I mean really, what do they do lol. They're only really there to give passengers that added reassurance lol.

But yeah, as said, top notch. I love this thread.

Nice one,

£70 isnt too bad really. My bumper cost £110 for the repair and it was very similar damage to what yours had.
I need to get my bonnet and roof respraying with a budget of roughly £190 which I am hoping will cover it.

So whats next once the interior is done? are you planning on any other engine tweeks?
Exhaust, manifold,re-map etc?

Cheers Emma 8)

Yeh me too, Alex mentioned they're needed, but after chatting with a mate we agreed that there are cars released without handles, and you can also buy sunglass holders in replacement to them, so they can't be that important!

Probably not man, I don't think I'll be putting any more large amounts of cash into this project that I won't see back out. I'll be getting the wheels refurbed next year, then a few more interior tweaks but other than that keeping it pretty low key. I'm happy where it is now and wanna save for my Mark1 Golf project!
