TV and advertising thoughts people....... share up :D

from browsing tv this evening

Nissan Micra - "Micratude" car washing ad.
The micra "dude" does of course realise that washing his pride and joy off with dirty, gritty, extra-salty seawater is a bloody stupid idea?

Carling "shirts vs skins" ad
I know its a rather overblown bit of commercialism by an international firm attempting to flog p*sswater, but something about it just makes me think it's awesome

New Vauxhall Astra............
ok it was funny but just baffling. what is that odd looking thing?
-2 minutes later-
an astra?!?!!!! what happened to it... it looks...... styled. rather than just an amorphous blob of metal.

what with all the avant garde, future retro future future type angular black-lights kind of styling going on at the moment, what are people going to think of todays cars in 10 years time? (i seem to remember thinking the same thing back around the time the mk3 was becoming the 6n, and the punto appeared... but this is something a little more radical). its going to be a very odd place when the new astra, etc, are 10 year old bangers.... and the early 6n's are 20!

mind you they'll all be in museums and we'll either be driving hybrid fuel-cell teardrop shaped common-chassic GM wonderwagens, or if you live in the "dark angel" 2014 future (also something i discovered tonight), battered, chugging old Toyota Corrolas that already looked old in 1994, with biomethane tanks on every roofrack.

(and then telewest decided it was time for their satellite receiver stack to throw its monthly hissy fit and disrupt everyone's overnight video recording settings, so i came upstairs)

Chugging old Corollas :( Or any Corolla for that matter.

Can't comment on British TV ads, BBC World doesn't have any.
