stage 1 remap! What next ?

Post by chris gti »

All i have done so far to my 06 polo gti is a pipercross panel filter and a superchip which put it to 195 bhp. I ordered and paid for a full milltek exhaust but the garage i ordered it from rang me up saying milltek told them under no circumstances put the one they ordered on my car, it reaked of bulls**t but what could i do. Anyhoo, what would you guys suggest i do next? power wise and mod wise?

Get the proper Milltek for the polo, can only assume they ordered the one for the Ibiza which is too long.

Front mounted intercooler mate ;)

Maybe 312mm brakes? Coilovers? Forge TIP (Throttle Intake Pipe)?

ah right i get ya ha ha. ye i thought of that but its a deer do but it all sounds achievable. Also with the stage 1 remap i am getting 20-22 mpg on average, never above 25 unless i really try. Is this normal for a 190 bhp polo gti or is it alot? What are you lot getting to the gallon with what power?

I have a stage 1 remap so will be around the same power as you, i get mid to low 20's when booting it and mid 30's when driving along 'normally'!

i see you went for a superchips i went for the revo and got 225bhp on the rolling road with the stage 1 software and a replacement panel filter.

the forge fmic is good for maintaining that power!

Milltek, Forge FMIC, BMC CDA air filter, 4 bar fuel pressure regulator and you should see around 240 bhp with a stage2 :D

i was talking to a guy today were i get my rolling road work done (was there as my boss is having his mk6 gti revo'd) and he was sayin you dont get mpg increases after a remap on a turbo petrol, if u drive "normally" mpg figures will be unaffected as from stock. but obviously with more power comes faster driving or faster acceleration which burns the precious petrol therefore lower mpg.

bearing this in mind on a decent trip on about 50miles at a steady 60/70 with hard acceleration for overtakes get there looking at 38ish mpg

driving style is the big difference.
