will be once the gti comes out next year pennies are being put by as we speak for it. I am hoping that there will be a diesel version with at least 170bhp, heres hoping.

Regards the above subject new section needed as nothing like the 9n3 in any shape or form totally different car other than name.

Think a new sub forum's needed.
Can then discuss the new model in a proper place :)

On the subject...
. Love the front end
. Current engine options are poor
. Interested to see a new GTI spec one
. Would LOVE to see some kind of crazy new special edition 'Seat Ibiza Bocanegra' killer/rival (with a proper gearbox) in the future ...... yeah right

New sub forum needed! If anything, the 9N3 and 9N should be joined together.

Love the looks of the sport kit. If it's a tad bigger than the 9N it might be very tempting for me. As above, the diesel would be the one of choice. Much nicer than the Golf IMO.

Exactly, that is where the "face-lift" can live, these new Polos are variants of the new Ibiza, but I'd reckon that their roots can be traced back to the new Fabia - so more of the usual Skoda problems I'd expect. BTW 5-door cars are built in South Africa, Spain is only building 3-door and possibly 4-door models - well for RHD markets anyway. Wife's "new Polo" sales pack seems to have arrived in the mail today, I must say, as far as a 9N owner is concerned, this car is a lot better looking than the "face-lift" - the frontal proportions were a bit "off" on the "face-lift" for my liking. Looks like VAG are pushing Castrol products according to the B pillar sticker - the Moda (or something like that) is very well spec'd for its price - only problem was 1.2 60 PS! Plus they were very excited about the split level boot - I thought it was a complete waste of time and space - secondary boot floor just below bumper height, maybe enough room for a dozen bags of crisps, no I hope that I can miss that "extra" out - looked good in silver with its "big" alloys - wife thinks that the dash is a bit too high. One thing that I've just discovered, the TSI 1.2 engine is quoted in VW driver as being a new four cylinder engine with 105PS, I still agree with the yanks that there is no substitute for size and would rather see a grunty 1.6 engine in the range for making it a drivable runabout - Seat (new Ibiza) still use the 1.6 engine that should have been in the 9N Polo from "day1"!

was asking the local dealer if there was a gt tdi in the works.. apparently the 1.6 with 105ps is as powerful as it gets diesel-wise :(
if they'd bring out a 2.0 with 150ish i'd be all over it!

incidentally, drove a new golf with that 1.6 diesel - it's quieter than the 1.6 petrol! it's incredibly smooooooth! <3

There should be a new sub forum for it yes.

So, anyone got any pics of modified examples then?

Hi, just thought I'd introduce myself as a newcomer who took delivery of his first ever VW on Monday. It's a 1.4 SE DSG 3 door in flame red and I love it! After three Renaults and various other cars it's nice to own a car of such good build quality. The DSG option was a moment of rashness but I think I made the right choice and can't believe how quick and discrete the changes are, I hope it lives upto the promised fuel economy figures. I agree with other poster's comments about the "false" boot floor and question why VW are so keen about it but this is my own real criticism. One question, what are "running lights" all about, other than not having the red panel lights on they seem no different to having the lights on anyway am I missing the point?

Regards, Spangler

my mum has now ordered a new 2010 plate polo 1.2 s and is just waiting to get it delivered. we took one for a test the other week as she never actually did it befor ordering it, and its nice to drive, smooth and light etc but the only problem i have with it on the 5 door is the front doors have some kinda point on them at the back when it closes so it kinda be dangerous. even the doors are really light.
