This is the concept concerned:Not content with the world's most economical car and a wacky new MPV, Volkswagen is now set to diversify its range even further with the rebirth of a coupé model.
According to company insiders, the Skoda Tudor concept car, unveiled at last month's Geneva Motor Show, will go into production as a VW to rival the Peugeot 406 Coupé and forthcoming revived, new Ford Capri. The company has yet to confirm whether the name Corrado (photo) will come back or if the car will wear a new badge. Based on the platform of the Passat, the new coupé will make use of VW's vast engine range. Surprisingly, the diesel versions are expected to be the best sellers, while the W8 petrol units are likely to power flagship models. Production versions should be ready late next year, priced between £20,000 and £30,000.
