Is it legal to take ur number plates off and place them in your windows?

I don't think so, if i'm correct they have to be placed ahead of the front axle

would tht then not make it illegal, as your window is behind the front axle? or have i picked this up wrong?

ye law stats that the front numberplate has be facing forward in front of the wheels ie bumer bonnet grill most be of correct size but dont matter wear u put it providing its in front of the wheels and visable if u stand facing the front of ur car

Yeh to further confirm it has to be on the furthest most point of your car.

yes it needs to be on the front, i had mine in the window and got spotted my traffic pretty much straight away
managed to get a warning but my mate (mk3 golf) got a £30 fine last night in texaco for it being in his window!
