Cup holder removal

Any body out there know how to remove the cup holder on the dash as mine is knacked and I need to remove the thing and it appears to be in solid. Cheers in advance for any input lads.

A witty answer there my friend, however this damn thing feels as though it is glued in short of ripping it out which I don't want to do the haynes manual isn't helping in this case.

there's a thread here somewhere, you need to lever a metal catch up behind it to get it out, it sounded a fiddle but it won't come out just by force IIRC.
