Re: Tim's GTI. update thread, INTERIOR CONTINUES PG 36
No worries,
I simply got some foam (packing foam from a computer HD IIRC!) and filled the hole, I then got a piece of cardboard and cut it to size, then taped the cardboard over the foam and hole so it was flush. then stuck my suede over the top.
I used cardboard from a cereal box, I'd advise something a little thicker though as there's a slight lift in the finish.

Re: Tim's GTI. update thread, INTERIOR CONTINUES PG 36
Well finally got to drive my car over the last few days. It needed a quick jump start as expected but other than that no issues.
I drove up to uni via birmingham to pick up some new winter wheels.
I'm not proud of this look, but it saves my new paint from the same fate as my last!

It's a custom made Autobra job, made without a numberplate hole or optional washer jet holes.
120 miles north, fitted and the Monos are washed and stacked in my room. Excuse the dirty car but this what I'm currently riding!

Height is still to sink abit, the front is a lot higher than it used to be before it was sat on axle stands for two months.
The wheels need a bit of work, gotta get some spigots rings for them, one (maybe two) new tyres in the near future, and I'm probably going to refurb them in all gun metal grey. I'm not huge on two tone.
Thoughts welcome,

i would leave them as they are Tim they really contrast well with the car, they suit it down to the ground! ATS Cups always suit mk5's

The car is looking Good Tim, love the way it sits. I think the ride height is spot on and autobra is good for the motorway Journeys, especially when taking it to shows.
I am not a fan of the ATS Cups really, not on a 6N2 Polo but the Monos look awesome.
What's next on the list?

Re: Tim's GTI. update thread, MORE WHEELS PG38
cheers guys,
i got the cups with the intention of painting them all dark to create an almost banded steel look, i'm in two minds with how they look currently.
next on the list - re-paint the rocker cover (not quite perfect) and get all the engine bits put back together, then finish off the interior by spraying the seals black, black interior light surround and black sun visors!

would spraying the sunvisors be abit tricky though Tim as i thought of this but where the visor pulls down the bit it rotates on will get worn away wouldnt it? is there no other visors that fit in ? and what you using to spray the seals as i wanna do mine, just normal black spray paint you reckon?

As for the seals, they are a fabric coated rubber, so id use a black fabric spray for them
Re: Tim's GTI. update thread, MORE WHEELS PG38
That autobra makes your car look like it is wearing a gimp mask... but it'll be worth it for next year's show season
Cups look good as winters!

Re: Tim's GTI. update thread, MORE WHEELS PG38
No no I'm not planning on spraying the sunvisors, only spraying the seals.
The light surround will be from the Lupo GTi and the sunvisors will be from a golf 3 cab, so no spraying needed.
Fabric spray doesn't work, it's doesn't give a proper black, just dark grey, plus it rubs off onto other materials. I'm just going to use regular satin spray.
Yeh that thing is damn ugly but it serves a good purpose, Alex yours looks worse than mine!

nooo red is the way forward
mine on yours would be rather scary ill give you that!
Ah gay about the spray...will a few coats not sort that problem? -
just dont apply to much satin spray as it could make quite a mess!
