GT Coolant Warning Light

Post by GR33NIE »

Had my coolant wanrning light pop on a couple of times over the last week or so. If I restart the car it seems to go away :?: I've checked the coolant levels which appear to be fine, no surprise really considering it had a major service only back in August

What else could it be? Dodgy coolant temp sensor?

Maybe I should just fire it up and thrash it then? :D

Mine takes ages to warm up in a morning so i would guess that it is a sensor fault.

This is a common fault on the Beetles but never heard of it on the Polo. It's probably the cheapest 1st solution (other than coolant levels). If it's easy to get to then it's only a ten minute job anyway.

Booked in for next week now, probably needs to stay with the Stealership overnight since the light only comes on first thing in the morning (and when it's cold enough)

Checked the coolant level again and it was actually on the minimum line  Topped it up and it hasn't come on since so I think I know what the problem is...me not checking the levels correctly
