Panel filters

Hey up lads,

Decided it's time for some form of none standard filter for my polo. Can't really afford a BMC induction kit so been looking at panel filters. I know it won't give me any power increase just a nicer sound yeah?

Any recommendations? BMC /K&N / Green cotton?

Any help is appreciated

A Panel filter in a standard airbox wont sound noticeably different....

Green Panel cotton filters are suposed to be good... allows the air to flow through easier than the standard paper ones....

I use a green cotton panel filter in mine,it is alittle better flowing than the standard paper one and can be cleaned on a service rather than replaced so it does work out to buy a cotton set up over paper.Mine changed note a tiny bit but not noticable amounts like and induction kit would.If you haven't the money for a CDA kit i definately upgrade to a cotton filter.

i used K and N panel filter for a few months- and the engine felt Slightly more responsive, but then again its common for mods such as these to psychologically think you're going faster

I would personally save up and get the BMC CDA kit, if you buy a panel filter you will probably end up replacing it for the BMC anyway or the Pipercross Viper kit.

The BMC CDA has a unique induction roar and it puts a smile on my face everytime I hear it. Its gargles at low revs and screams at high revs

Save up and get the BMC CDA emma, you wont regret it!

I have had a K&N since I bought the car, make servicing slightly cheaper, other than that, I want a CDA!

BMC CDA's are over rated. Sure they will give you a throatier sound, buts it unlikely you will see much if any gains in response or power.

Personally i think they look out of place in the engine bay also...i like to keep it neat lol

Yeh BMCs don't do anything in the performance department really, they sound and look great though
