HIDs4U Ballast replacement

Post by Tim_GTi »

Anyone used HIDs4U replacement ballasts?

I'm assuming they include wiring for the D2S bulbs (will ring and check on Monday), just wondering if anyones used these as a replacement to the OEM ones and have anything to say about them?

Cheers

They always used to do the replacement Hella ballasts from OEM headlights which would be a straight swap. I'm pretty sure they are of a good quality, but its hard to say - the problem you will face is if its not matched, the bulb will ignite and get to full brightness slower than the other side. in after market ones, this is often a good few seconds longer like the main beams we have.

Hhmm annoying, that's not the type of information they'd be able to tell me over the phone either I'm guessing. They do used OEM replacement ones also, but they're out of stock. I can't order it for a week or two so will wait to see if any used ones come back into stock, otherwise it'll be taking the plunge I think!

There was a set of OEM ballasts on their own over on club polo the other week mate, might be worth a look?
